Dr. George Pegios

Highly esteemed by both patients and colleagues, Dr. George Pegios, BDS, is one of the leading implant practitioners in Sydney. With the mission of sharing his in-depth knowledge of implant procedures, Dr. Pegios founded the Australian Institute of Implant Dentistry in 2001. Here, Dr. Pegios conducts a yearly series of seminars, inviting both patients and colleagues to learn more about dental implants and their benefits.

Although Dr. Pegios is known for his expertise in implant dentistry, he has been well-trained in all areas of his field. He earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Sydney in 1984, and established his private practice in Brighton-le-Sands in 1987. After several years of successful practice, he went on to receive his diploma in Clinical Dentistry from the University of Sydney in 1999. During his career, Dr. Pegios has participated in numerous professional workshops in a wide range of disciplines, including dental implants, micro dentistry and air abrasion, bioprogressive therapy, and other general and cosmetic procedures. He has trained at several prominent dental centres in Australia and the United States, including the Mt. Sinai Medical Centre in Ohio.

Dr. Pegios has devised an innovative approach to reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry based on four essential goals. They include:

• Maintaining healthy, functional jaw joints and muscles
• Designing a beautiful smile using restorative and cosmetic treatments
• Providing safe, comfortable treatment using IV sedation with our very own anaesthetist
• Providing education and seminars to promote understanding between patients and doctors

It is with this philosophy that Dr. Pegios developed his new dental centre adjacent to the Australian Institute of Implant Dentistry. Both centres are specifically designed to integrate sophisticated equipment with progressive methodologies.
